The volunteers from the local Cabrillo-Diego branch of the Association of American University Women (AAUW) raise funds all year so they can send students to a STEM camp called Tech Trek. Challenger has been honored to work with this branch for 10 years and this year make over 50 Challenger students that have been to attend this wonderful camp.
In order to apply, students were nominated by one of their teachers. They then had to complete an application with an essay and short biography. Finalists for interviews were selected by AAUW volunteers and after the interviews were conducted another panel of volunteers made the final decision. They said it was a very difficult decision because our students were so impressive.
This year, four students will be attending in-person camp at University of San Diego for 5 days and two students will be attending the virtual Tech Trek. Congratulations!
