The local chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) fundraises all year in order to send students to a Tech Trek week-long camp. In order for students to participate in this STEM camp at USD or a virtual camp, they have to be nominated by their teacher. Students have the option of participating in a writing workshop to polish up their biographies and essays needed for the application. During the next step, selected students are interviewed by a panel of volunteer judges from AAUW.
This year, several students have been awarded this tremendous opportunity of a five-day stay in a dorm at USD where they will work with other students from all over the state or a virtual workshop for 5 days. After the camp, they will share their experience at the AAUW chapter meeting and will help the next group of students with their applications in the coming school year.
Thank you to all the AAUW members offering this opportunity to our students and to Mr. Cook who facilitated the program at Challenger.
Congratulations to these awesome students!
