Whoo Hoo! Our students have been selected to be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City! This is an amazing opportunity for our students to attend in person and see their work displayed on the big screen. Please help them make the journey by donating to the Go Fund Me drive started by their teacher, Mr. Shutler. It will take some funds to get both students and a parent/guardian for each student to make the trip - plane fares, food, hotel, transportation, etc.
Go Fund Me Make their dreams come true by donating here!

We're a proud to recognize the efforts of two students who submitted a video to the Robert F. Kennedy Speak Truth To Power Video Contest! This nationwide competition is sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers and the Tribeca Film Festival in collaboration with RFK Human Rights organization to encourage young people to use the power of film as a tool to create change.
Two CMS eighth graders, Emily Bui and Quynh, felt motivated to learn about and speak up for people without stable places to live in their community. They researched the law and conducted interviews to piece together this documentary called Struggling San Diego. This film has been selected as a finalist. The top three videos will be screened at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival known for independent films and showcasing new voices. Winners will be announced May 30. We wish them good luck!
