The Filipino Club and Vietnamese Dance Team proudly represented Challenger at three different elementary school cultural fairs, Jonas Salk, Hickman, and Sandburg. Students performed traditional Filipino and Vietnamese dances at each school, showcasing their cultures.
Filipino Club officers also joined student leaders from across the district at the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Youth Summit held at San Diego City College. One of our very own 7th graders, Silas Coching, an APIDA board member, delivered a presentation on the Model Minority Myth.
