Challenger Middle School's first priority is preparing students for high school both academically and socially. We are monitoring every student and want to make every effort to ensure their success.
We celebrate the accomplishments of our 8th graders at the end of the school year with an end-of-year activity and promotion ceremony. We also have other fun activities throughout the school year. In order for 8th graders to participate in these activities, it is essential that students maintain appropriate academic progress and behavior.
To qualify for an activity, the student must meet the participation requirements on the grading period prior to the activity. Administration spoke to 8th graders in the Science classes on September 12 to review the participation policy posted below. We've asked the students take the policy home, review and sign the policy form to ensure that both the student and the parents/guardians understand the policy. We've asked that all the forms be returned by September 13, 2024.
Participation Criteria
- No more than one (1) "F" academic grade in any class on April 19, 2024 progress report (P4)
- No more than one (1) "U" citizenship grade in any class on April 19, 2024 progress report (P4)
- No more than two (2) suspensions throughout the entire school year
- Tardies: No more than 10 tardies (make-ups will be held during lunch intervention and/or after school.)
Any major behavior problems at any time may be cause for students to be ineligible for activities. The principal will make the final determination regarding student participation in the promotion and activities.
If you have any questions, please contact your student's counselor.
